Gabby says OMG!

Keris Stainton author of ‘Della says OMG!’ has officially said Gabby’s Guide is ‘cute and funny, with some excellent advice (and really adorable illustrations).

In other news…

I’ve been trying to find a way to write a very serious and ground-breakingly important blog post whilst also keeping my promise to include a mention of Robert Pattinson in it…and it is just not happening. So I know where my priorities lie and something has had to give. Unfortunately, the serious, ground-breaking etc. post will have to wait so here’s a silly little post about Robert Pattinson and others gorgeous celebs….

Thinking about Robert Pattinson (which isn’t exactly a rare occurance) got me to start thinking about what kind of guy I would put him under in my boy catalogue. Geeky guy? He makes funny little jokes and isn’t afraid to admit how much he loves his dog but I’m sure we’ve all heard about how he was expelled from school, and it wasn’t for spending too much time in the library. So bad guy? Perhaps, but other than annoying a few of his teachers he’s pretty much an all round good guy, flying out to look after gf Kristen, and of course the aforementioned dog thing. I could class him as a random encounter, but considering I buy any magazine with his face on it and track down the tiniest interviews of him on the internet, there’s nothing really random about it. So my conclusion is that there’s going to have to be a A Girl’s Guide to Guys 2nd Edition since there’s a new addition to the catalogue; Vampire Guy. Yes yes, I know Robert Pattinson isn’t actually a vampire, he’s just acting, but it’s the only way I can think to sum him up (and this way I also get to mention the really hot Ian Somerholder from Vampire Diaries). So here’s how I’d describe him:

Vampire Guy

  • Has white, sparkling (weirdly pointed) teeth, similar in colour to his skin. Likes to show these off, grinning a lot, bringing them close to your face just so (as he says) you ‘can have a better look’.
  • Likes dates in the darkest rows of the cinema, historical tours (old churches, graveyards etc.) and midnight strolls. Bowling, not so much.
  • Dazzlingly handsome. Astonishingly wealthy. Strangely excessive use of hair gel.
This quiff = 2.5 bottle sof shockwaves (and a spritz of Elnett for good measure)
  • A big fan of lazy days in bed. All day, everyday, generally till around sunset.
  • Vintage style clothing kind of guy, particularly anything in black. Might stretch to wearing a cape if it’s a special occasion.
  • Favourite foods are juicy raw steaks and red berry slushies. Hates garlic mushrooms, garlic sauce, garlic bread and French cooking.

 Not a dog person.

Who is Gabby?

That would be me : ) Teenage girl, future Mrs R Pattinson (er, possibly) and responsible for A Girl's Guide to Guys: Meeting them, Managing them and all that Love Stuff (that bit is true). Welcome to my blog and my very first post.
While I would love to just sit here and discuss celebrity crushes, in the interests of pleasing my publisher I suppose I should discuss my book. Then again, it is a book entirely about boys so I guess it amounts to the same thing. A Girl's Guide to Guys is, well, exactly that. A whole 108 pages on what can drive a girl to spend all her pocket money on a new dress, crazy in love or just plain crazy. In my experience, often all three in the same day. There's some fabulous drawings in there by Heby Sim, chapters on first dates, first kisses, the first time you get dumped and I think I've thrown a few extracts of my diary in there, just so you can see me go through all of that with the not so fabulous Joe. But I won't go into anymore detail about that. Nope, that's going to be my not-so-subtle hook to get you curious enough to want to read the book, or at least a little more of my blog. Intrigued by the thought of your very own boy catalogue? Sort like the ones at Argos only full of hot guys (instead of only a couple of them in the bathrobe section)? Then A Girl's Guide to Guys is going to be just what you are looking for, and theres no need to even leave your sofa to get your hands on one. Its available from Amazon.co.uk , Amazon.com or head on over to http://www.gabby-guides.co.uk/.
Phew, that's the hard sell over with. Next post...Robert Pattinson.
